Interracial relationships have always been viewed as taboo
in America.  However only one type of interracial relationship
has been violently opposed during the whole history of the
US, that is when it is a sexual relationship between a Black 
and White person.  Only in the past 30 years has it been
legal in all 50 states for an interracial marriage of this type
to take place or even recognized as valid.
