It is not everyday that the chance comes along to photograph a professional beauty queen in the nude, especially one who has been a runner-up in the Miss Great Britain contest. But that was Carol's claim to fame when I did two shoots with her at a studio in Newport Street in Bolton back in 1973. |
| Carol was a very busy girl. As well as being a beauty queen and a glamour model, she had a young daughter and she was a ladies hairdresser too. But I am not sure about her marital status because there were no rings at all on her left hand on the first shoot, but a few weeks later on the second shoot, she was wearing both a wedding ring and an engagement ring. |  |

If I am given the choice of photographing a girl in her bikini or in her bra and knickers, I normally always go for the bra and knickers option. But with Carol being a beauty queen, a few bikini pics seemed quite appropriate because although 1000's of people had seen her in a bikini, not many had seen what she had got underneath ... |
| The first two photosets of Carol, Pretty in Pink and Maxi-Skirt Strip are both girl-next-door kind of striptease sets because she is taking off the clothes and undies that she was wearing when she arrived at the studio for the shoots. Pretty in Pink was taken at the start of the second shoot and Carol's mini-skirt and platform shoes were at the height of fashion at the time, and like a lot of other girls did in those days, Carol had got her panties on over her tights ... |  |

The Maxi-Skirt Strip pics were taken at the start of my first shoot with Carol and she seemed quite surprised that I actually wanted to photograph her in her everyday clothes, and smoking a Consulate cigarette before she got undressed. I am pretty sure that if she had known beforehand what I was planning, she would have worn something different. But I am glad that she didn't because her yellow knickers and laddered stockings are much more interesting. |
| In the third photoset, which I took during the second shoot, Carol does a Mini Skirt Strip, which is basically another girl-next-door kind of striptease because she is posing in some more of her everyday sort of clothes and underwear. The platform heels and tights are the same as she is wearing in Pretty in Pink, but I had not seen her in the blouse, mini-skirt, or the black panties previously. Although Carol had a black bra with her, which I photographed her wearing in the Smoking and Stripping set, I know that she preferred to go bra-less which is why she didn't wear one for this mini-skirt strip set. |  |

Carol's preference for going bra-less was more for her own comfort rather than to titillate. Although she said that she wouldn't dream of being seen in public without a bra on under the black see-through top she is wearing in Smoking and Stripping, she did admit to going out in the top with her black see-through bra on underneath, which between them don't leave a lot to the imagination. Although (apart for Carol wearing a bra) this set is very similar to the Mini Skirt Strip set, I have included it because of the photos of Carol smoking a menthol tipped Consulate cigarette whilst she was stripping. |
